The Challenge
Produce combination wood/corrugated shipping containers for large, valuable conveyor systems. No shifting during shipping could take place, as that could damage the sensors, belts, lights, and other equipment.
The Solution
Stearnswood designed a custom base that the conveyor could be strapped down on. Then they built U-shaped wood frames that fit around the conveyors for extra support and strength. A corrugated sleeve and cap finished off the container, protecting the aluminum finish.
We’ve been able to use the same design to package the multiple sizes of conveyor systems offered – everything from five feet to eighteen feet long by five feet tall.”
